Ignite your miniatures with the vibrant and dynamic Flexible Triad: Oranges and capture the intense essence of warmth, fire, and lava. This range of orange hues is perfect for depicting the blazing fire, the molten flow of lava, or the explosive heart of a detonation. Beyond fiery effects, these are also excellent for simulating the warm, inviting illumination from light sources like lanterns and candles. If you’re painting fire elements and fire drakes, these paints are a must have in your paint arsenal.

The Oranges Triad is suitable for projects across all genres of miniature painting, from historical and military figures to fantasy creatures and sci-fi models.

The Flexible Triad: Oranges consists of:

  • Warpaints Fanatic: Molten Lava
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Molten Lava is a strong reddish orange that is suitable as a red highlight or orange base tone. It’s the darkest tone from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Strong Reddish Orange”.
  • Warpaints Fanatic: Burning Ore
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Burning Ore is a vivid reddish orange that works nicely as an orange base coat. It’s the second-darkest tone from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Vivid Reddish Orange”.
  • Warpaints Fanatic: Lava Orange
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Lava Orange is a true orange and works as your natural mid-tone for orange projects. It’s one of the two middle tones from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Orange”.
  • Warpaints Fanatic: Flickering Flame
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Flickering Flame is a vivid orange that is inspired by flames and useful as a mid-tone layer. It’s one of the two middle tones from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Vivid Orange”.
  • Warpaints Fanatic: Glowing Inferno
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Glowing Inferno is a brilliant orange that is suitable as a light layer or highlight. It’s the second-lightest tone from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Brilliant Orange”.
  • Warpaints Fanatic: Inner Light
    • The Warpaints Fanatic: Inner Light is a light orange yellow that is the perfect final highlight for orange. It’s the lightest tone from the “Oranges” Flexible Colour Triad and its Practical Colour Name is “Light Orange Yellow”.

The Flexible Colour Triad System is a segment, or family, of six colours that range from dark to light with a consistent hue. This system allows you to easily select paints that create a natural colour progression on your miniatures. This is an easy way to create a colour scheme for your miniature when army painting because you always have 27 Flexible Triads to choose from instead of mixing colours.

The system builds upon the traditional triad system by introducing more versatility and adaptability in colour selection, expanding the conventional three colours to six. This gives you almost endless possibilities for putting colours together within the triad.

When using a triad system, you usually select 3 colours (a base, a shade, and a highlight), depending on the level of contrast you want on your miniature. For instance, for minimal contrast, opt for 3 adjacent colours to achieve a smooth colour transition. For maximum contrast, use the lightest, middle, and darkest colour available in the flexible triad.
